I am an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Mathematics and serve as the Head of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Applied Mathematics.
My research uses mathematical modeling, asymptotic and rigorous analysis, optimal control, and scientific computing to address problems across applied mathematics, including in chemical physics, material science, nonlinear optics and biology.
During COVID-19, I became involved in epidemic modeling and real-time data analysis in collaboration with Israel’s Ministry of Health. Since 2022, the questions and experience that grew from this work have led to an increasing academic focus on mathematical epidemiology, including epidemic dynamics, vaccination, interacting strains, and pandemic preparedness.
